India is a big country, and with over a billion inhabitants, one of the most populous in the world (after China). This month, the country dairy udyog verskiesings, and then come automatically even a comparison to - it's the largest democracy in the world. There are more than 1,000 languages spoken in the country, 2.7 times as big as South Africa. There are 28 states and 7 union territories (including special laws etc.. Did). Ooty where our course, was about 300 km south of Bangalore, in the state of Tamil Nadu. Here are mostly Tamil speaking, and although 89% of the people are Hindu (in the state), there are also Christians (St. Stephen's Church in Ooty have such cheerful windows), Muslims, Buddhists, Sihks and many other faiths represented - talk about a rainbow!
A friend asked me if we noudie day in the "non-carnivorous portion" dairy udyog was, or what was it again? So black and white it is not, it depends on the faith of the people in the area. Everywhere there were Muslims who eat meat, but most Muslims in the north of the country, near Pakistan; conversely, most Hindus in the south of the country, and so they eat less meat. In fact, India has the lowest consumption of meat in the world. But wherever we were, there were options for "fighting" and "non-fighting".
The fantastic market in Ooty was also a meat section with mostly beef (which Hindus do not eat) but also goat meat and chicken. dairy udyog I took the photo below rather special place, a kind of evolution of the chicken if you want to see it that way. There was a man and chop chicken, just beside him hanging hoenderkarkasse. Under it is a live chicken tied to a cage with other birds live in that same fate will soon overcome as they hang above ... This is the life, eh? Greenmarket The "evolution" of the chicken
If veganer I was however quite happy with the food that we got the course. In the field they cook a lot with traveling, legumes, lentils, and of course all kinds of herbs. dairy udyog We had no meat is served, but there was sometimes milk in the sauce that was presented. That I not eaten, if I could avoid it. I must confess, three times a day curry eating is not for sissies ... I know a sissy I have some mornings not prepared for curry, and then toast or porridge (which I was in a store bought ) with the delicious local bananas, just for my own mental health. The etomologie of the word "curry" or tewel "curry" is interesting; it comes from the Tamil word "kari" which can be translated as "gravy". Traditionally you eat your food with your right hand from banana leaves, the cattle then to find the time to eat. But we did earlier in the typically metal plates eaten, where there is room for three sauces dairy udyog and then your living or traveling in the large space. Here are pictures of the food we had (I will, however, quite a bit while staying away from curry dishes ...). Alu paratha It was one morning's breakfast ... The cost of "dinner" we had. On such occasions are quite large chips, hehe.
The eating was telling all worked out well, and there was only one guy sick at the beginning of the course. The last day, however, almost everyone was sick and it was a story for everyone to get healthy enough to be able to fly. These efforts have included a tuk-tuk ride to the nearest hospital required; I'm glad that someone who is afraid of needles and grow to be cut down, and when the needle out (I had the previous day an animal and cut my hand into her stomach cavity had, how it works) and a tremendous lump on my button had to fly home. Frederik me at the airport to collect blood and vomit on my clothes, dairy udyog and a big happy smile. I was too sickly to care, but of course now slightly sorry for the man next to me on the plane had to sit!). As someone at the time on facebook put India 1: Let 0.
Sorry that I now laugh at the button on the head, and blood and vomit on your clothes ... .. it makes quite a picture !!! I admire you that you have three times (or twice if you exclude breakfast) curry eaten. I would try once and then fruit but alive ... though dairy udyog I no longer love fruit too. Heard if you want to tour India you need at least three days including sick from the food :(
Hehe, do not worry, even I thought it was funny. The food was actually very good, and the good that was too hot, I dilute with chutney. But how nice it is, curry breakfast goes down hard ... If you really eat food from there, I understand how our western stomachs slightly protest against :). That you just should not do is try western food in India to eat; it might be clean enough, but never really tasty. The people with me last night ordered club sandwiches and were very disappointed. I, on the other hand, was very impressed with my dahl with spinach and garlic naan; sorry i just had to o
