A few days ago we made a foray into the world of Irish whiskeys. We tasted three different malts from distilleries most active of the island. A taste of some interesting whiskeys that are becoming increasingly popular. Bushmills 10: (the distillery of the same name). A good malt, soft - especially when compared with the Scots - rather sweet. Kilbeggan: (from Cooley Distillery). Sweet, soft and oily, all the characteristics of Irish whiskeys. Tyrconnell: (from Cooley Distillery). A single malt with a sweet and soft input - all these Irish have a very nice home. Then evolves into notes drier. Greenore 8: (from Cooley Distillery). A grain whiskey, floral, probably less expressive than other Irish tasting. Connemara: (from Cooley Distillery). A single malt smoked, although it is quite soft and does not have the same power as the Islay. Jameson 12: (from the Midleton distillery). The Irish popular. Sweet, fragrant and some sherry notes. Like most Irish whiskey is an easy drinking Redbreast 15 (from the Midleton distillery). A single can still - whiskey made from malted barley and malting without. More complex and a more marked than other whiskeys from the island. This, along with Bushmills were top rated in this tasting. In short, a very interesting evening .... A good immersion in the world of whiskey
