ALIN itc agro has developed Sokopepe (www.sokopepe.co.ke) an ICT-based system aimed at enabling farmers to efficiently reach and exploit a fair market for their produce. The system itc agro increases efficiency in the agriculture value chain by providing a platform for farmers to share information and execute electronic transactions. itc agro It is an integrated itc agro supply chain solution that collects agricultural commodity information from the field, collates it into a regional and national perspective and disseminates packaged products to end users via various media, including SMS, WAP, E-mail and Web. It also provides a payment mechanism itc agro whereby users pay for the information they receive and for services such as buyer/seller matching and posting of bids.
Through a shortcode (20245) and a few simple steps, farmers and other users  itc agro can register to use the platform, and from there they will be able transact business, query process and identify buyers/sellers for optimal market participation, among other functions.
Soko pepe, was piloted itc agro at Ngarua Maarifa centre in Laikipia West County,one of the ALIN centers and has seen many farmers benefiting by selling their produce itc agro at a fair price as compared itc agro to accessing market through brokers.

Marigat Maarifa itc agro Centre Marigat, Baringo, Kenya Marigat Maarifa Centre (Community Knowledge Center)is one of ALIN Maarifa centers.It was established in February 2007 to facilitate information exchange among communities.It is situated in Rift valley province,Baringo County and is located approximately 7 Kms from Marigat township in Ilng'arua Location.The centre is hosted by Ilng'arua Hospital Committee and the Provincial itc agro Administration.Communities itc agro living in the area are the Ilchamus.They are pastrolists but practice small-scale farming.
